ABOUT:
The Clip was designed as a collective, but is making its debut as a one-person operation.
So for a moment, let’s drop the third-person professionalism:
Hi! Hello! I’m Shan, an Ottawa-based cannabis marketing professional and lifelong music lover.
As both a performing artist and as a fan, I’ve always been extremely passionate about the performing arts, particularly music. From opera houses to punk house basements, I’ve always found instant comfort wherever music can be found. The safest spaces of my formative years were found within local concert venues and online fan communities.
In my three years working my way up from a budtender to a marketing lead, my knowledge and passion for cannabis has grown tenfold. The plant helps improve so many peoples’ lives for the better, including my own. Cannabis has been instrumental in my chronic pain journey, as well as in managing my mental health. But I’m not a wellness-forward purist; I also just like to get stoned on occasion!
While I love my job, I can’t help but look at my place in this vibrant, ever-changing industry and ask “What’s Next?”
That’s the question that birthed The Clip. When it became evident that there were little to no spaces in cannabis that overlapped with my strengths, interests and ethics, it was time to make my own.
It is my sincerest wish to turn The Clip from “my own” into “our own”, and create an offbeat, thoughtful community of canna creatives (or uncreative weed workers, or less weedy creatives!) to share, collaborate, challenge, and of course celebrate!
